I was assured they would have everything ready for
me to start home by the end of the day on Saturday, 01/29/05. This did not happen. The new truck sales manager came to the
shop and pulled one of the workers off my truck and he never returned. The second worker was pull off on 3 separate occassions,
1 time for almost 2 hours. I personally had to get involved to help out. At 5:00 p.m., I left without everything being done.
I had no choice but to take the truck and leave. I went as far as Hermiston, OR and I stopped because the brakes on the truck
didn't feel right. On Sunday, 01/30/05, I discovered a hole in the air line between the truck and the trailer. I had to
splice it. The air pressure in the tires was way off and the truck had not been greased.
Not a big deal, but not
off to a good start. Later on the same day, I discovered the road speed had not been set. Also, as part of the requested
deal, my $1,000.00 rebate check was not in my paperwork.
On Monday, 01/31/05, I called Tech Equipment and spoke with
an assistant to the new truck sales manager about my check. She informed me that there was some paperwork they had forgotten
to have me sign and they would not release my check until it was signed. I asked them how they could hold up my money for
something they screwed up on. Needless to say, I didn't get an answer.
On Tuesday, 02/01/05, this same person called
back with quite a pleasant attitude to inform me that my check was being sent out then by Fed Ex, and it would be waiting
for me when I got home. (There is a reason for this change in attitude, just keep reading)
Later that day, I ended
up at Missouri Truck Center in Wright City, MO. I called at 1:30 P.M. and was told if I got there by 6:00 P.M. they would
hook up the computer and set the road speed for 1/2 hour labor rate. I agreed and I arrived at 4:40 P.M. The road speed
was set and at 5:10 P.M. I was handed a bill for $89.00 for 1 full hour of labor. The man that wrote the bell was the same
one I spoke to on the phone about the 1/2 hour rate. he proceeded to tell me that the technician had set 2 things. I asked
what 2 things that was and he said two things, and that the tech had worked on it for almost an hour. I made note of the fact
that I had only been there for 30 minutes and he had only worked on the truck for 6 minutes.

Well, this must have set him off. He began getting
really loud, saying they had the building, the light bill, etc. to pay. I cut in and asked him to get his supervisor, who
had heard what was going on and stepped in. He apologized and corrected the bill. But as the first man was walking off, he
said and I quote, "If he doesn't like our prices, he should buy his own damn computer".
Wednesday, 02/02/05, I arrived
home and thought at least the worst is behind me. WRONG!! I get a call from the new truck sales manager at TEC Equip. in
Portland, OR. He is asking me all about the truck and being very nice. I tell he all about my happenings thus far and he
reassured me that it will al be taken care of and not to worry. Then he drops a bomb on me!
He informed me that
someone had brought the wrong package to closing and that I have the wrong paperwork. At this point I am 2,900 miles away
from him.I could have demanded a price change , or just drove around for a month or so and simpy returned the truck. In other
words I could have really screwed him over, but I did not. Again, he said not to worry, they were sending out a new package
tomorrow. He requested I sign it at return it A.S.A.P. I signed the paperwork and sent it back as soon as I received it
on Friday, 02/04/05. I called TEC Equip, and informed them I had taken the paperwork to Fed Ex. and it was on its way. I
also asked her to make copies of this and send them back to me. At the time I received the paperwork I only had 40 min. to
make copies and drive over to the FED EX office and my copier was down. Along with the paperwork, I sent a bill to the new
sales manager for the items I had to have repaired and pay for. I was called by my terminal manager, who told me not to go
on any runs. Due to the fact that I had incorrect paperwork (i.e. vin numbers) my contract with my employer was void. The
mistake made by TEC Equip. cost me another $1,200.00 for lost work due to no lease contract.
On 03/18/05, I was back
in Portland, OR on another trip. I decided to stop by and let them finish the job on my truck. I wanted them to address the
other issues I was having with my truck. They are: the dash vibrates badly, 2 gauges on the dash don't work, the wabasto
diesel heater doesn't work, the heated seats don't work, the tempurature on the engine runs too high, cruise control doesn't
always work, and the fuel mileage is horrible. When I left that afternoon, the 2 gauges on the dash are working but everything
else is the same.
I was told they couldn't find anything wrong with the heater, and that there was no fault codes on
the computer about the cruise. They also told me that I needed to get over 50,000 miles on the truck before Volvo would do
anything about the fuel mileage. Bring it back then and we will adjust the valves , download the computer and send the info
to Volvo. I just needed to get few more miles on it.
